1. Purpose
The purpose of these Policies and Procedures is to ensure a safe, respectful, clean, and supportive living environment for all residents of the Independent Living Facility. These rules are designed to promote community harmony, personal responsibility, and overall well-being.
2. Resident Eligibility & Expectations
Residents are expected to:
- Live independently while respecting shared spaces and community guidelines.
- Follow all facility policies at all times.
- Treat staff, residents, and visitors (when applicable) with dignity and respect.
Failure to comply with these policies may result in corrective action, up to and including discharge from the facility.
3. Guest Policy (NO GUESTS)
- No guests are permitted at any time, including daytime or overnight visitors.
- This policy applies to friends, family members, and acquaintances.
- Residents may meet guests off-site.
This rule is in place to ensure safety, privacy, and comfort for all residents.
4. Curfew Policy
- Curfew is strictly enforced at 10:00 PM.
- Residents must be inside the facility by 10:00 PM daily.
- Exceptions may only be made with prior written approval from management.
5. Noise Policy
- No loud noise is permitted inside the home after 10:00 PM.
- This includes loud music, television, phone calls, or disruptive behavior.
- Residents are expected to be mindful of others at all times, including during daytime hours.
6. Respect for Property & Belongings
- Residents must respect the personal belongings of others.
- Taking, using, or damaging another person’s property without permission is prohibited.
- Facility property must be used properly and cared for.
7. Drug-Free Environment
- This is a drug-free facility.
- Illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or misuse of prescription medication are strictly prohibited.
- Violations will result in immediate disciplinary action and may lead to discharge.
8. Smoking Policy
- Smoking is not permitted inside the facility at any time.
- This includes cigarettes, cigars, vaping devices, and e-cigarettes.
- Smoking is only allowed in designated outdoor areas, if applicable.
9. Alcohol Policy
- Alcohol is strictly prohibited on the premises.
- Possession, consumption, or storage of alcohol is not allowed.
10. Respectful Communication
- Residents must speak to one another with respect.
- Harassment, threats, bullying, abusive language, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
- Conflicts should be reported to staff for mediation.
11. Cleanliness & Housekeeping
- Residents are responsible for cleaning up after themselves.
- Common areas must be left clean after use.
- Personal living spaces must be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.
- Failure to maintain cleanliness may result in corrective action.
12. Health & Safety
- Residents must follow all safety rules and emergency procedures.
- Tampering with safety equipment is prohibited.
- Any unsafe conditions must be reported to staff immediately.
13. Policy Enforcement & Violations
Violations of facility policies may result in:
- Verbal warning
- Written warning
- Behavior agreement or probation
- Discharge from the facility
The severity of the consequence will depend on the nature of the violation.
14. Acknowledgment
